Frequently Asked Questions

Our Nurse Practitioners provide a person-centered approach that focuses on your overall health rather than just treating individual symptoms.
While our core service supports your weight loss journey, it also includes comprehensive health monitoring and ongoing wellbeing support.

Currently, weight loss medications are not covered by the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS). While we cannot control pharmacy pricing, we will work closely with you to help minimise medication costs wherever possible.

Our services may be eligible for a Medicare rebate, provided you complete a face-to-face appointment with one of our Nurse Practitioners at least once every 12 months. Please check with our administration team, as face-to-face appointments are available in multiple locations across Australia.

Fee Schedule (based on NP item numbers and consultation time):

  • 10 minutes: $40 (+ card fees) | Rebate: $27.80 (from 1 July 2026)
  • 20 minutes: $80 (+ card fees) | Rebate: $52.55 (from 1 July 2026)
  • 40 minutes: $110 (+ card fees) | Rebate: $77.55 (from 1 July 2026)
  • 60 minutes: $160 (+ card fees) | Rebate: $117.20 (from 1 July 2026)

If a Medicare rebate is not applicable, full-fee appointments are still available. These appointments can still include the use of Medicare-compliant eScripts.

  • Attend a face-to-face appointment with one of our Nurse Practitioners at least once every 12 months
  • Have your consultation via Telehealth or in person

  • Lifestyle modifications

Due to Australian advertising regulations, we cannot discuss specific medications on our website. However, all appropriate treatment options will be discussed during your initial consultation, subject to clinical eligibility.

Our Nurse Practitioners are also experienced in discussing bariatric (weight loss) surgery options, if appropriate and of interest.

WHY Clinic is not an emergency medical service. Please seek urgent care through appropriate emergency channels if needed.

If you are unable to attend a face-to-face consultation, your appointment will not be eligible for a Medicare rebate.
However, you may still continue care with our service on a full-fee basis.

As your Nurse Practitioner is clinically responsible for your care, changing providers requires coordination with your current NP.

We understand that changes may be needed (e.g., due to availability or scheduling), and we will support you where possible.

Please note:

  • A longer initial consultation will be required with your new Nurse Practitioner
  • This ensures they have a full understanding of your health history and weight loss journey
